This was my submission for a comic book challenge, I'm sure many of you have already seen 'cause it was on every banner ad I ran across.
It's a story about a mechanic, a rich brat, a good hearted thief and a witty student set in the overwhelming city of Centropolis. Which is basically a 1930s New York with an alternative history twist that gives it this noir, steampunk, retro-futuristic feel, throughout the story ...
Anyway, it obviously didn't pass into the top 50, so I decided to share it with you. Can't say I'm particularly disappointed since I know my skill level isn't exactly high, it's just that in two weeks time I have that university exam where I have to show my work and this is a low blow to my confidence levels which, wasn't high before either. I'm gonna redraw it again and with real ink, for the portfolio, and after that...I'll come back to it eventually, cause I've been creating the setting for a long time, just can't draw it yet...
for what it's worth ; i think it's great. i like the colors you've chosen , they really suit the era. the lighting and blurred image at the bottom is fantastic
Thanks, it does mean a lot. *sigh* for the first time the colors are EXACTLY what I wanted them to be, too bad the rest of it isn't. The whole feel of the place isn't exactly in it. I'm redrawing it, so we'll see how that turns out
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More

Mary dances for the angels
She's a puppet turned to queen
She's the harlot of the holy
Only angels hear her sing
